Hi!
My name is Susanna (or Susie). I live in Australia and I am a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, with a special interest in orofacial myology.
I’ve been working as a Speech Pathologist since I graduated from Macquarie University (NSW, Australia) in 2004. I’ve worked in lots of different settings in Sydney, the Top End and the Central Coast of NSW. I’ve worked with the full age range, in both public and private practice. I currently operate a private practice in Taree, called Hand-In-Hand Speech Pathology. I am a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, offering services across the age-range for people with swallowing and communication difficulties. I also offer internet-based consultations.
I live with 3 school-aged boys, 1 husband and 4 Australian Cobberdogs (woolly, human-focused dogs). Our first 2 boys are affectionately known as B1 and B2 on this site (after some famous bananas); our 3rd boy is B3 because he loves following his brothers around and doing whatever they’re doing. My education taught me a lot about speech and language development, but what I’ve learnt from my kids cannot be taught in a classroom!
In 2017 I began a new journey: Orofacial Myology. I have completed Orofacial Myology training with the Australian Academy of Orofacial Myology, Orofacial Myology Masterclass with Sandra Coulson, Integrative Breathing Therapy with Dr Rosalba Courtney and paediatric feeding therapy (the S.O.S. Approach) with Dr Kay Toomey.
I hope you find lots of fun tips, tricks and quips around the topic of speech and language development and Speech Pathology.
